Concert by Takeshi Shimozato, winner of the Special Prize “Diventerò” Project – Fondazione Bracco for Young People of the XXXII edition of the International Piano Competition Ettore Pozzoli.

The 28-year-old Japanese pianist from Okinawa began studying music at the age of 10. After completing her musical studies in her country, she has been attending the “Incontri col Maestro” Piano Academy in Imola for some years, where she studied with the great Ukrainian teacher Leonid Margarius. In Imola in 2019 she was selected to play in the cycle of Beethoven Concerts with the Italian Youth Orchestra directed by Daniele Rustioni within the “ChigImola” project. Takeshi Shimozato played for the imperial family of Japan in 2017 and has been soloist several times with orchestras in Mozart Concerts, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Tchaikovski, Rachmaninov.
In 2021 she won the third prize and the audience prize in the International Competition Epinal of France and the Bracco Foundation’s “Progetto Diventerò” Special Prize at the XXXII Edition of the International Piano Competition Ettore Pozzoli in Seregno, as well as the first prize at the “Andrea Baldi” of Bologna, “Jacopo Napoli” of Salerno and “Città di Sarzana” competitions “. Equipped with a superlative technique and great musicality, at the Baldi Competition last June she distinguished herself in particular for her famous performance of a Sonata by the contemporary French composer Henri Dutillleux.
